The Global Working Group on Salutogenesis recently met in Vitznau, Switzerland, from 25–26 June.
The Global Working Group is a team of international scholars with expertise in the research, theory and practice of Salutogenesis. During the meeting, members came together to reconnect in person and co-develop future directions for the field.
Discussions focused on topics such as the role of culture in Salutogenesis, agency, settings, collaboration processes, research methods, and contemporary interpretations of the Ottawa Charter. The group also continued its work on the Addendum to the 2nd edition of the Handbook of Salutogenesis.
Another important topic was the upcoming 8th International Conference on Salutogenesis, taking place in Concepción, Chile, in January 2027 under the theme “Connecting Cultures, Weaving Wellbeing.”
